Components from the three volumes include the following:

Volume I has four decisive battles: Arbela, Cannae, Pharsalus and Teutoburger Wald—presented in easy, quick-playing wargames. The average playing time is 30 minutes to two hours. Each game utilizes short standard rules, divided into introductory, basic and advanced sections, to provide a span of simplicity and detail for every experience level.

Components: 400 counters, (4) 17" x 22" mapsheets, standard and battle rule books.

Volume II

Components: 420 counters, 8-page rule book, and (4) 22"x17" maps.

Volume II adds more battles to the popular Ancient World series. Quick to read rules and easy play make this game a first pick for an afternoon or evening of fun. Scenarios include: Issus, Metaurus, Carrhae and Idivisto.

Volume III

Components: 520 die-cut counters, three 22x34 inch mapsheets, rules, scenario booklet and player aid card.

Volume III adds even more battles to the popular Ancient World series. Quick to read rules and easy play make these scenarios a first pick for an afternoon or evening of fun. Scenarios include: Megiddo, Qadesh, Lake Trasimene, Munda, Boudicca and Adrianople.

My friends and I just got started in this particular type of wargame and this game with the easy to learn rules yet realistic has made the transition better and more fun. We all enjoy it tremendously and can't wait to move to the musket and sabre rules.

does any one remember the phrase beer and pretzel game,well heres one,the rules are the best i have ever read,straight to the point and dont jump around,can be read in a hour and played, i chuckled and thought it would be easy to play,not,had tactical problems right away,formation and timing are everything in this game,must buy for those i dont want hurt my head days.
